Cellular Agriculture – Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Protein Production

Room 10D, Politecnico di Torino

The seminar, organized by Prof. Diana Massai, will explore the challenges and opportunities of cellular agriculture for sustainable protein production.

The seminar will feature contributions from:

  • Prof. Alessandro Bertero, Associate Professor at the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences / Molecular Biotechnology Center “Guido Tarone”, University of Turin, presenting "Cultivated meat: rationale and state of the art from a biotechnological perspective”
  • Dr. Bruna Anzà, PhD student at the Department of Applied Science and Technology, Politecnico di Torino, presenting “Closing the loop: upcycling agrifood sidestreams to enable cell agriculture scale up”
  • Dr. Diana M. C. Marques, PhD student at the Department of Bioengineering, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) / Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), University of Lisbon, presenting “Whole-cut cell-cultured fish fillets production by cellular agriculture strategies”
The seminar will be followed by a round table and open discussion, offering a valuable opportunity to further explore the technological innovations behind cellular agriculture and the production of cultivated meat and seafood.
