Seminario "Advances in Guidance, Navigation and Control of UAV formation" - Prof. Egidio D’Amato, University of Naples “Parthenope”

Abstract:
As the utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) continues to evolve, the effective coordination and control of UAV formations present both challenges and opportunities. In this seminar, we will explore the dynamic landscape of guidance, navigation, and control in the context of UAV formations. From the trajectory planning to seamless formation management, through the situational awareness and control strategies, we will address the multifaceted aspects that contribute to the success of these aerial ensembles.
Short bio:
Egidio D'Amato was born in Naples, Italy, in 1982. He received the master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli,” Aversa, Italy, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Naples “Federico II,” Naples, in 2013.,He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Science and Technology, University of Naples “Parthenope,” Naples. His current research interests include control theory and applications, applied to autonomous navigation of unmanned aerial vehicles and swarms.
