Biography

I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of Politecnico di Torino. The main focus of my PhD is the development of new technologies for RNA-based therapies to counteract age-related diseases, particularly cardiac diseases, by accurate design of new effective and simple drug delivery approaches. My academic journey commenced with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical and Food Engineering (July 2020). Subsequently, I furthered my education by completing a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (December 2022), both accomplished at Politecnico di Torino. I performed my Master's thesis project, as a part of our commitment within the European Research Council (ERC) BIORECAR project, entitled "Surface functionalization of bioartificial nanoparticles for selective targeting in cardiac cell reprogramming". During my thesis, I had the opportunity to prepare nanoparticles as carriers for direct reprogramming in the field of cardiac regeneration. From March 2023 I am a Post-graduate Fellow at Politecnico di Torino. This position allowed me to improve my research experience and to work on the new European Research Council (ERC) POLIRNA project, aimed at the development of hybrid nanoparticles embedding miRNA and functionalized with specific ligands.
