MATERIAL FASTENING AND JOINING RESEARCH - prof. Sayed Nassar (Oakland University. USA)

Dimeas

Abstract:
This doctoral course focuses on recent research advances in the area of mechanical and adhesive joining of engineering materials. For threaded systems, covered topics include fastener tribology, nonlinear modeling, elastic interaction modeling, fatigue, and vibration-induced loosening of preloaded systems as well as multi-material fastening. Adhesive bonding topics include modeling and testing, film and liquid adhesives, process variables, and lightweight-material bonding. Final exam has written and in-class oral presentation of an assigned research topic related, but not limited, to the course material.
